Granite VS Quartz

Having a tough time deciding between Granite or Quartz? No worries! After this article you'll have the expertise to choose the piece that's right for you!

Granite stones are naturally formed pieces of stone quarried from the earth. The stone will appear less uniform with tons of irregular veins, as they aren't perfectly designed by nature. Quartz stones on the other hand are human engineered, they're made up of 93% quartz and 7% resin. Quartz will look more consistent and less sporadic than granite.

The majority of people are beginning to purchase Quartz because its much easier to maintain and is as durable as granite. Quartz countertops are non-porous, meaning they will never require sealing. They also offer nearly no maintenance at all, Quartz doesn't stain so any spills can be taken care of with a quick clean up. Another reason for Quartz's increasing popularity is because seams are much easier to hide due to the stones consistency. What you see is what you get, the slab will more or less look like the sample.

No two granite pieces will ever look the same, each slab will be unique to your home. Since granite is a natural stone, samples will look slightly different to the slab. If going with a granite piece, we recommend seeing the entire slab and laying out your design preferences before production and fabrication due to the unpredictability of the stone. Hiding a seam will be more difficult with granite because the irregularity of the veins. Granite countertops are porous and can only be considered stain resistant by sealing your countertops yearly.

Regardless of which option you choose both will be beautiful pieces for any place in your home. Whether it be a natural and unique piece on your island or a more uniform and consistent look throughout the kitchen. Granite or Quartz will make your home look spectacular!
